Margaret George's other books are also excellent - come to think of it she wrote about Mary Queen of Scots as well (also Tudor, this time Elizabeth I) This book spurred me onto to reading non-fiction about Mary Queen of Scots and I was shocked at how close to real life MG's book and the events in it were. This is a recommended reading list from a college course on Tudor History that I took in the early s. Most of these books are Reading tastes in early Tudor times scholarly and analytical, but there are some that are nice for recreational reading as well.
